Registration for summer swim team is closed--the team has reached its maximum enrollment.

Participation is open to any swimmer who is 5 to 17 years of age as of May 1, 2008 of the current year and can swim one lap (25 yards) each of freestyle and backstroke without assistance. Swimmers do not need to be Lakeway residents or members of the Lakeway Swim Center to participate on the summer team.

The $190 swimmer registration fee includes coaching, pool usage during swim team, swimmer t-shirt, swimmer banquet fee, league fees, meet fees, awards and trophy (for eligible swimmers), and team administrative costs.

In addition to the registration fee, one parent from each family must be available to work three swim meets during the season from start to finish. There are no exceptions to this requirement.

To get the most from our program, swimmers should be able to attend at least three practices per week. All swimmers must be able to participate in three sanctioned swim meets during the season, not including the intrasquad meet.

Note: There is no "summer stroke clinic" this year prior to the beginning of practice. Swimmers who want to swim in April can join the year round team.

• Summer 2008 swim team registration dates are Sunday, April 6, from 5:00 to 6:30pm and Tuesday, April 8, from 6:30 to 8:00pm. Registration is at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek), and NOT at the pool. Registration must be done in person this year! Bring your calendar--swimmer registrations are not complete until you sign up to work three swim meets.

• Team suit sales are Monday, May 5, 4-7pm at the Lakeway Swim Center (*note: same suit as last summer)
• Team & individual pictures are Thursday, May 22, 5-7pm at the Lakeway Swim Center 
• Intrasquad meet is May 10 at the Lakeway Swim Center
• Meet schedule--swimmers must be able to participate in at least three swim meets to enroll on the team:
  • Saturday, May 17, morning at Lake Hills pool
  • Saturday, May 24, morning at Barton Creek West pool
  • Saturday, May 31, morning at Lost Creek Country Club
  • Saturday, June 7, morning vs. West Austin at Lakeway Swim Center
  • Saturday, June 14, morning vs. River Place at Lakeway Swim Center
  • Saturday, June 21, morning vs. Austin Country Club at Lakeway Swim Center
• Practice ends June 20, season ends June 21 (medals meet)
• Awards banquet is June 22, 1-3pm, at the Lakeway Activity Center

Practice Schedule: Swimmers must practice only at the designated time--check your email for group assignments sent out on April 22. Swimmer's age is fixed as of May 1, 2008 for practices and meets.
