Coaches

Swimming is our passion and Lakeway is our home. It's our goal to run a great community-based program, where kids can learn to swim, have fun, and make new friends. Your team is run by volunteers and led by a professional coach with years of experience. If you have questions that are related to workouts, meets, events, goal setting, or other swimming related needs, please contact your coach. For all questions related to administrative issues, such as dues, safety, or team policy, please contact the team manager.

Cooper
Cooper Robinson Head Coach

Coach Cooper has been involved with swimming for more than 15 years, both as an athlete and as a coach. He started swimming when he was in 8th grade and has continued to love the sport ever since. He swam for Texas Christian University, where he was able to qualify for the US Olympic Trials and NCAAs. He has been a part of the coaching staff with Lost Creek Aquatics/Capital Area Aquatics since 2015, first as an assistant coach, and now as the lead coach for the CAA-Lakeway location. He has enjoyed working with every swimmer from the Lakeway location and every swimmer on the CAA team. Cooper has also been a part of the coaching staff with the Lakeway Lakers summer league team since 2017. He finds it extremely rewarding to teach young swimmers to have fun and to improve their swimming, while loving the sport!

Jessica
Jessica Evans Team Manager (Volunteer Position)

Jessica became a "Swim Mom" when her daughter, Hannah, joined the Lakeway Lakers swim team in 2004. She started as an age group parent for the girls 7-8 age group. During her daughter's five summers on the Lakers swim team, Jessica worked in every volunteer position on the team, including being the team's lead volunteer. After Hannah left the summer swim team to focus on year-round competitive swimming, Jessica continued volunteering to manage the Lakers team and also became certified as a USA Swimming official as a stroke and turn judge, starter, administrative referee, and meet referee. She is also certified as a UIL official for high school swimming in Texas. Jessica also serves on the South Texas Swimming board of directors and the Austin Hills Swim League board of directors, and coaches Special Olympics and the Lakers' USA Swimming partner club, Capital Area Aquatics at Lakeway.

About the Lakeway Lakers

The Lakeway Lakers summer swim team began in 2003 when the Lakeway Swim Center first opened. The Lakers team is a nonprofit organization in the State of Texas and is federally exempt under Section 501(c)(7) of the IRS code. The team is run entirely by volunteers and is completely self-funded. Membership is open to swimmers who meet the eligibility requirements. We offer a fun and supportive environment for beginning and experienced swimmers, stroke development and stroke refinement, and competitive events at which to swim. Swimmers on our team range in age from 5-1/2 to younger teens, and our swimmers have a range of abilities, from experienced summer leaguers to newbies. Many of our swimmers have gone on to be successful USA Swimming, high school, and collegiate athletes, and many have competed at Junior Nationals, Nationals, and even the Olympic Trials. Our summer season is about good swimming and good sportsmanship, in a fun, neighborhood setting.

Want to keep swimming all summer or year-round? Swimmers can join our partner club, Capital Area Aquatics at Lakeway, which practices in the mornings at the Lakeway Swim Center through the summer and in the afternoons during the school year. CAA is a year-round USA Swimming club.
